About Stanton, NJ
This village in Readington Township dates back to the 17th century, and was originally named Housel’s after Johannes Housel, an early Dutch settler. The Stanton General Store, first built in the 1830s, is still a part of the community today. Notable Stanton natives include playwright William Marchant and Emma Bell, an actor who has appeared on The Walking Dead and several other TV shows.
